Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the 4-7 fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), extended at the C-terminus with a Pro-Gly-Pro sequence to confer resistance to enzymatic degradation.
